Southern United National Youth League Trials



Southern United will be hosting an 'Open Trial' for Youth squad players on;

-          Saturday, September 10th from 10:30 - 13:00 Tahuna Park, Dunedin, and

-          Saturday, September 17th from 10:30 - 13:00 Tahuna Park, Dunedin


If you are a talented football player born in 1997, 1998, 1999 or 2000 and you think you have what it takes to play in the National Youth league with Southern United please 'Register' here.

Southern Utd FC represent the 'Football South Federation' and southern region on the national stage with four teams competing in the respective competitions.

-          National Womens League (Seniors)

-          Mens National Futsal league (Seniors)

-          Mens Natioanl Premier League (Seniors)

-         Mens Youth National League (U19)


Southern United Youths will be looking to continue the fine form of the 2015 season where they finished in 2nd place in the standings and had further success with several youth players progressing to make 1st team debuts with the senior team in the Premier division.

Following the 'Open Trials' the coaching staff will identify and select a final squad of players for the coming 2016 National Youth League season.

Please note this will be a select/ non select trial - No individual written feedback will be available post trial.

-         Register:To ensure game time - please complete registration before the deadline date.

-          If injured, you should still attend to discuss options with the coaching staff, if you can't travel due to the injury please email

-          All players should be ready to take part in a full training session and training match.

  • Boots
  • Shinguards
  • Full playing kit
  • Rain kit/ shower kit

-          All players to bring water bottles and a post training snack.


Southern Utd Senior:

During the trial period the senior squad staff will be observing the players also. In addition, during pre-season and in-season the coaching staff of the Youth and Senior squads will be communicating on a continual basis with a view to identifying players that have the ability to step up to the senior squad. Players in the Youth team squad will have the potential to step up to the Senior squad throughout the season and post Youth season finishing.
