Southern United are delighted to announce Ignacio Sande as Head Coach of Southern United’s National Women’s League team. As well as possessing an OFC B License, Ignacio has a double Masters in Team Sports, Talent Development and High Performance.

I’m keen to get started, and will be working quickly to engage with the players directly, get pitch sessions going, and overall ensure we’re ready for the coming campaign”
Ignacio, born in Uruguay, has been based in New Zealand since 2010 where he was awarded Southland Coach of the Year three times and spent the last 4 years developing the wider game as Southland’s Football’s Development Manager. During his time in New Zealand Ignacio has been involved in a variety of coaching activities across the game, including head coach of representative girls and boys teams, coaching Football South girls teams at National Age Group Tournament, and coaching for New Zealand Football in the NTC programme. Prior to this Ignacio has held head-coach, S&C and coach education roles in Spain and his native Uruguay.
“The progression of the club and team over the last two years has been great to see, and I’ll be working hard to support the players to achieve another step forward this season”.
The season, which will be two full rounds for the first time, starts on September 16th with the finals taking place December 16th.
